Pete Ellefson and his little friend Gillie headed out on Long with me today to see if we could catch some big ol bass on Gillie first fishing trip. Fishing was great and we caught numerous keepers, with our best 6 going over 18lbs. Most of our fish came on jigs in shallow water (1-3 feet), but we also caught a few on Pop Rs and Senkos including Gillie's first and big bass of the day as pictured below. The majority of our fish were sitting on seawalls over shallow weedflats. It was an excellent day on the water filled with fish, various wildlife, and great conversation. All our fish were released to fight another day.
